Assistant Product Engineer Location: Luton, Bedfordshire Salary: Circa £25,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time We are seeking an Assistant Product Engineer to join our Technical Department. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for electrical product development and a keen eye for detail. The successful candidate will support senior engineers and ensure our products meet the highest standards of safety and quality. Day-to-day of the role: Support senior engineers in the development of electrical products in collaboration with manufacturing partners. Assist with the testing and evaluation of products, accurately recording test results and reporting on required improvements. Establish product and packaging labelling and marking requirements in line with industry standards. Produce and maintain technical literature, including product specifications and packaging specifications. Ensure all products comply with relevant BS EN safety standards and directives, including EMC, REACH, and RoHS. Maintain up-to-date technical support files, including WEEE and packaging weight data. Work closely with the Quality Team to investigate product issues, report findings, and manage product improvements with partner factories. Required Skills & Qualifications: Degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably with a focus on electrical or manufacturing engineering. Understanding of manufacturing processes, product standards, and a quality approach to problem-solving. Ability to identify product features and benefits. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Methodical and organised with a disciplined approach to work problems. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
