Accounts Assistant Annual Salary: £28k - £29k (rising to £30k after probation) Location: London Job Type: Full-time We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our team of experts in the luxury goods industry. The role involves a variety of accounting functions, including invoice authorisation, reconciliations, and general ledger entries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in book-keeping, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure. Day to day of the role: Obtain invoice authorisation and perform supplier and customer statement reconciliations. Allocate payments on supplier and customer accounts and send out remittance advices and customer statements. Make general ledger entries including accruals and prepayments on SUN Systems. Process staff credit card expenses on SAP Concur and produce expense reports. Resolve supplier queries via telephone and email efficiently, ensuring all issues are investigated and resolved on time. Conduct daily and monthly bank reconciliations. Prepare the monthly BACs payment and ensure suppliers are paid on time. Manage the fixed assets register and petty cash, as well as prepaid cards. Assist with billings and accounts receivable when required. Support the external auditor with the company's annual audit. Assist the Accounts Payable Supervisor with day-to-day accounting functions. Liaise with suppliers to negotiate better terms and pricing. Audit Purchase Ledger monthly for cost analysis. Required Skills & Qualifications: Book-keeping and double-entry knowledge. High levels of accuracy and excellent attention to detail. Quick learner with the ability to grasp new programs. Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure to meet deadlines. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally across all levels of the organisation. 2 years of experience in a similar role; AAT or first level of ACCA preferred. Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), SUN Systems, SAP Concur. Experience with international suppliers and foreign currency invoices.
