Job Title: Accounts Assistant Location: Chorley, Lancashire Pay Bracket: £24,000 - £28,000 Benefits. We are working within a family-owned business who are looking for an experienced finance professional to join their team in Chorley. Directly working the existing accounts team and the FD, this role's mission is to deliver consistent and accurate accounts. This is a hands-on role where you will need to be able to perform across a spectrum. Your main roles and responsibilities: Responsible for the daily banking - cheques / cash / BACS Responsible for the accurate allocation of all customer receipts Support the credit controller. Responsible for dealing with the purchase invoices. Processing supplier queries General admin duties and other ad-hoc duties The ideal candidate will have: For success it's vital that the candidate has a strong knowledge of transactional duties and some exposure to supervising. Previous Sales ledger and Purchase ledger experience Cash handling experience Experience using Excel is key. Must be willing to travel to Chorley on a regular basis. This newly created role is needed due to company expansion and increased workload and will repot directly into the head of finance. Duties include: Processing invoices, reconciling statements and dealing with supplier queries. Preparing and sending payment runs ensuring agreed payment terms are adhered to Maintaining the debtors and creditors Credit control when necessary (small amount) Bank reconciliations in various currencies Ensure stock matches the balance sheet VAT returns Raise any rebates where needed Raise a small number of sales invoices monthly Working up to trial balance This office based role would suit a candidate who has previously been in a varied position within a small business.
