Be responsible for System Compliance Assurance Validate that the D365 F&O system's internal control environment and associated group business processes are robust and compliant with both external and internal audit requirements Test system design to ensure the delivery of consolidated group and individual statutory Accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards Thoroughly assess system design and reporting for accuracy and compliance with VAT partial exemption rules and Trade Union reporting regulations Work in tandem with Subject Matter Experts to ensure that reporting meets day-to-day operational requirements Facilitate the transfer of system and reporting knowledge to the Business-as-Usual Team for a seamless transition Engage closely with Subject Matter Experts to stay well-versed in day-to-day operational needs Ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial data for both internal and external reporting Conduct comprehensive testing of system design and compliance, providing detailed hand-over documentation for each design and report piece Jointly sign off on design and reporting functionality to ensure alignment with expectations Uphold values of respect, and inclusivity in all interactions with colleagues, members, customers, and stakeholders Advocate for equality, diversity, inclusion, and human rights, contributing to the fulfilment of commitments outlined in the company statement Adhere to Data Protection Policy, Retention Schedule, and departmental procedures to safeguard personal data Actively promote member recruitment and the benefits of the business' membership, positioning the organisation as a leader in nursing representation and practice excellence Undertake any additional duties as assigned in alignment with the job role Skills Thorough comprehension of financial reporting standards and regulations Proficiency in utilising D365 F&O system functionalities Demonstrated experience in producing Statutory Accounts adhering to FRS102 and SORP guidelines Proficient in Group Accounts preparation Demonstrated experience in implementing new finance systems Proficient in delivering formal presentations and report writing Experience in preparing VAT and Corporation tax returns Possession of a recognised CCAB accounting qualification (ACA /ACCA/CIMA) To find out more about the Technical Accountant position, please apply and we will be in touch to discuss the role in more detail. This is an office based role, initially starting with a 6 month FTC with a view to become permanent.
