Account Semi-Senior Location: South London (with on-site parking facilities) We are a dynamic, growing family business seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Semi-Senior to join our full-time team. Our firm, based in South London, provides comprehensive accounting services to a diverse range of clients nationwide. With clients spanning various industries and sizes, we offer an exciting and varied work environment. Summary: We are looking for a motivated and experienced Account Semi-Senior to join our vibrant team. This role is primarily focused on reviewing (90%) with some hands-on tasks (10%). The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong background in accounting, and be proficient with accounting software. Key Responsibilities: Review and Prepare Accounts: Statutory accounts, bookkeeping, VAT returns, and corporation and personal tax. Client Management: Handle a diverse portfolio of 250 clients across sectors such as consultancy, manufacturing, construction, retail, and technology. Payroll Services: Oversee and manage payroll processes. Statutory Compliance: Ensure filing of annual returns and submissions to Companies House. System Proficiency: Utilize QuickBooks, Xero, SAGE, and VT effectively. Supervision: Review and guide the work carried out by other staff members. Requirements: Preferably fully/part qualified ACCA / ACA / CIMA / AAT. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Excel. Previous experience and proficiency in Xero. Excellent organizational and time management skills. At least 3 years of experience in a practice environment. Ability to meet strict deadlines. Proficient in using Excel, Sage, and other accounting software. Genuine interest in and care for smaller business clients. Speed and efficiency combined with attention to detail. Strong problem-solving skills. Professional, focused, and logical approach. Excellent understanding of double-entry bookkeeping. Ability to work independently without extensive guidance. Roles and Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: Preparing VAT returns for clients on various schemes, including reverse charge and flat rate schemes. Managing client queries. Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts with reconciliation and supporting schedules. Preparing CIS returns. Preparing and reviewing self-employed and rental accounts. Performing ad-hoc administrative duties. Following internal work procedures and standards. Liaising with clients and third parties. Performing bookkeeping for client accounts as needed. Handling company secretarial duties, including preparing stock transfer forms. Reviewing work carried out by other staff members.
