Reed accountancy have recently partnered up with a business who are on the lookout for a meticulous Finance Assistant to oversee financial management. This role is integral to maintaining precise financial records, handling sales invoices, ensuring prompt payments, and delivering top-notch customer service to all stakeholders. It's an excellent opportunity for those with a solid finance background, outstanding communication abilities, and a desire to contribute to the progress of scientific research. Key Responsibilities: Accurately and promptly generate and process sales invoices. Regularly maintain the sales ledger and reconcile accounts receivable. Monitor client accounts for prompt payment and follow up on overdue invoices. Work with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and respond to client inquiries. Review study budgets in contracts and assist in setting up study financials in the system. Prepare and distribute monthly statements to clients. Aid in the creation of financial reports related to sales and accounts receivable. Ensure adherence to organizational policies and procedures, as well as applicable regulatory requirements. Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of sales ledger operations. Provide audit support and assist in resolving audit findings related to sales ledger activities. Review and record purchase invoices in the system for approval. Handle patient reimbursements (travel, inconvenience, meals). Assist the Site Director with all financial matters. Undertake additional tasks as required. Qualifications and Skills: Demonstrated experience as a Sales Ledger/Credit Control Clerk. AAT qualification or other relevant certification would be beneficial but not mandatory. Prior experience in a similar role, ideally within the scientific research industry or a related field, would be beneficial but not mandatory. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial record-keeping. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. Proactive problem-solving skills and a team-oriented approach to working with cross-functional teams. Benefits: Competitive salary package - £25,000 - £33,000.
