As a Financial Accountant you will ensure the provision of high-quality financial accounting that supports the effective and efficient management of financial resources, within statutory and regulatory guidelines. Client Details You will be working for a well known Government Organisation based in Central London as a Financial Accountant Description The key duties for this role are as followed: Maintaining the non-current asset register for organisation owned assets, ensuring asset additions, disposals and verification are carried out on a timely basis in accordance with asset policies. Liaison with the organisations current outsourced provider, Atos to compile the IFRIC 12 (Service Concession arrangements) asset register. Review and agree asset data and keep relevant documentation for the assets, including reconciliation between the Atos Asset Register and the General Ledger. Building relationships with the organisations new outsourced suppliers, ensuring assets are correctly captured. Ensuring accounting treatments are correctly applied. Delivery of monthly processes on non-current assets, analysing transactions and preparing required journals, supported by relevant documents and working papers for audit. Supervising accounts receivable processes and working closely with Commercial Finance to ensure invoices are sent out on time and according to cash forecasts. Liaising with Commercial Finance and the Treasury Manager on outstanding debts. Manage Accounts Payable officer, supervise and provide technical accounting support. Ensuring payments are processed on time and carried out as per the organisations policies and guidelines. Review Balance Sheet reconciliations. Clear un-reconciled items and maintain appropriate documentation to support the balances. Prepare and complete the payroll journal, reconciliation and analysis. Ensure data is secure. Liaise with HR on payroll issue. Assist with VAT preparation and the related quarterly reconciliation. Preparation of directors' expense analysis reporting and other management reporting. Support the Financial Control team in the preparation, and delivery of statutory reports, publications, internal and external audits, and the Annual Report and Accounts within agreed timetables. Maintain the Agresso system chart of accounts, ensuring any changes are appropriately controlled and authorised. Carry out quarterly reviews of users and access rights to ensure control and security of the financial system (Agresso) are in place Carry out quarterly reviews on journal entries to ensure adequate evidence and document(s) are attached on the system. Profile To be successful in this role you will have the following: Experience in financial accounting and reporting and applying IFRS accounting standards. Experience of month-end and year-end accounts closure processes including balance sheet reconciliations. Fixed assets accounting experience including practical experience of working with fixed asset registers. Demonstrated expertise in operational efficiency and reporting Experience of analysis of financial accounts and operating a financial control framework to ensure the integrity of transactions. Excellent organisational, planning and team working skills with the ability to work alone or as part of a team, committed and self-motivated. Experience of using the Agresso finance system Experience of reviewing financial policies and procedures Fully Qualified Consultative Committee Accountancy Bodies (CCAB) or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) with post qualification experience. Strong technical financial accounting skills including up-to-date knowledge of IFRS accounting standards. Experience of assessing and maintaining fixed asset registers.
