Reed Accountancy is currently partnered with an established client in the Haywards Heath area who are currently seeking a driven and enthusiastic Finance Assistant to join their team on and initial 6 month contract. This full-time role is perfect for someone with strong accounting and bookkeeping experience who thrives in a fast-paced and varied environment. The role may offer one work-from-home day upon completion of full training. Please note, due to the rural location of the company, having your own transport is essential. Day-to-day duties of the Finance Assistant: Managing Accounts Payable, including reconciliation of supplier statements and processing invoices. Experience with DEXT is preferable, but training will be provided. Overseeing Accounts Receivable by processing sales invoices, following up with clients, and sending out statements. Conducting Credit Control activities, such as chasing payments via telephone/email and updating Credit Control spreadsheets. Handling telephone queries related to Accounts Receivable/Payable. Providing assistance and cover for other duties during holidays or sickness within the team. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven work experience as a Finance Assistant or in a similar role with a minimum of 2 years' experience in sales and purchase ledger. Good knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures. Proficient in MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions). Ideally familiar with Xero Accounting software, though training will be provided. Strong organisational and time-keeping skills. Keen attention to detail with the ability to spot numerical errors. Ability to work independently as well as part of a small accounts team. AAT qualification is desirable but not essential. We are looking to recruit a Finance Assistant for a company just outside Burgess Hill. The role will involve general finance support including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, generating PO's, reconciliations, etc. You must have previous experience in a finance/accounts role, be proficient with excel and be familiar with accounts software i.e. SAGE. This is a temporary ongoing role which could become permanent for the right person. Due to the location of the office you must have your own transport. Working hours are 09.00-17.00 Monday - Friday and there is an immediate start available. The hourly rate is £13.85ph.
