You will support the team's fee-earners by providing competent, efficient and proactive legal secretarial and administration support, including postal and Reception duties, for planned and unplanned shortfalls in secretarial staffing, covering vacancies and staff absences. Key responsibilities: To support one or more fee-earners in the management of the secretarial and administrative workload, ensuring that the priorities of the department are met Accurate and timely preparation of correspondence from digital dictation and word processing Organisation of the file management system, including maintaining the relevant paper and electronic filing systems and archiving Proactively work with fee-earners to ensure relevant documentation is produced to meet clients' expectations and the needs of the business Respond to internal and external client needs in a timely, professional, helpful and courteous manner Ensure that the firm's post is distributed internally and sent out on time Provide Reception cover as required for breaks and absences Any other tasks which may reasonably be required from time to time Key skills and knowledge: Excellent word-processing and digital dictation skills Experience of creation and amendments of long documents Ability to manage large volumes of documents and data Ability to manage a workload with competing deadlines Recent practical experience of using word processing packages (preferably Microsoft Word) Practical experience of handling client enquiries both by telephone and face-to-face Recent experience of working in a legal office environment To apply please send your CV to Kimberley Peterson as directed
Our well established client is seeking a 2 year PQE Private Client Solicitor to join their busy Private Client Department in their North Dorset offices in Shaftesbury. What is the role? The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a broad caseload of Private Client matters including the preparation of wills and powers of attorney, estate administration, estate planning, trusts and court of protection work, working in a busy department against a target. The role will also involve proactive business development and networking. Who you are? You will ideally have in the region of 2 years PQE within Private Client, however we welcome all applications as full training can be provided to help you grow into your role. You will have/will gain demonstrable experience in the administration of complex estates and estate planning including planning for high net worth individuals. You will be a people person who is positive, team-focused and passionate about providing excellent client service. You will be self-motivated and adept at building relationships; coupled with a professional, friendly and empathetic approach.
