The Role: We are currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated person to work alongside the Sales and Purchase Ledger Supervisor. The successful candidate must possess strong mathematical skills and be competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages. You will be working as part of a four-strong Finance team, reporting to the Sales & Purchase Ledger Supervisor. While previous experience of working in an accounting environment would be advantageous, this is not essential, and the successful candidate will be provided with full, on the job training. Key Responsibilities: The administration of the sales and purchase ledgers, including importing invoices, posting receipts and processing payments Liaising with suppliers Raising and posting sales and purchase credit notes Supplier statement reconciliations using Excel Daily banking functions including bank reconciliations Importing bank payments onto online banking software Liaising with internal staff regarding accounting transaction queries Other duties as may be required by the firm Person Specification: Required Qualifications/Training: GCSE Maths and English Grade C or above (or international equivalent) Required Attributes: Have good numeracy skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Excellent standard of written and spoken English Computer literacy Ability to deal with high volumes of work and manage conflicting priorities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to take ownership and responsibility A willing and able attitude Desired Attributes: Solid Microsoft Excel skills (vLookup, pivot tables, formatting) Working knowledge of Sage Line 50 or other accounting software Salary, Working Hours & Benefits: The starting salary is £17,373.72 - £23,107.24.
