You will work alongside the Head of Audit to run the department, delivering high quality audits to our clients in the SME sector You will be supported by the wider audit team to deliver the onsite work and will report into the RI's in the department You will build relationships with the clients so that you are the "go-to" person and will manage their expectations, their audit, and our team to deliver a high quality audit. You will be developing the team and be a role model You will be completing file reviews on a range of audit clients, utilising your existing technical knowledge and experience whilst developing your skills still further and ensuring quality standards are met in the department You will also be identifying and delivering added value services to the clients to help them prosper What about you? You must have a least 2 years' post qualified experience in a medium sized practice working SME's You'll be ACA or ACCA qualified You'll have supervisory or managerial experience You'll have strong technical knowledge, eg UK GAAP, FRS102, IFRS and ISA's You'll love developing relationships You'll be tech-savvy, knowledge of CCH would be great You'll have a pro-active approach to tasks whether they are big or small You'll be motivated by a fast paced environment You're excited to immerse yourself in our culture and business. The Audit Manager will provide a high-quality service to the Directors and Partners and develop strong client relations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to obtain audit experience across a variety of sectors. You will be responsible for ensuring successful completion of assigned audit engagements, from start to finish, inclusive of preplanning and wrap up activities. Depending on assigned engagement, you will report to the Audit Director or Partner. Manage and direct daily activities of the audit team as a whole and on your direct assignments.. he Audit Practice Manager will apply risk and control concepts to scenarios encountered and identify any potential issues. Communicate identified issues with the audit team to ensure any concerns are addressed in a timely and effective manner. Duties will include: Monitor and manage audit department work in progress. Direct responsibility for your own portfolio of clients Assessment of Audit Quality File grading on complex audit assignments. Responsibility for departmental recovery rate target and department profitability. Review of complex and group audit assignments, finalising audit opinions. Provide high level technical support to the department Able to provide detailed technical support on complex matters of UK GAAP. Able to provide detailed technical support on UK ISAs. Able to review complex corporation tax computations and deferred tax workings. Responsible for team performance. Including team appraisals, performance management and objective setting for senior and/or junior members of the team. Demonstrate stakeholder management, including meeting and reporting back to clients and updating Partners and Directors on progress . Responsible for design and implementation of department processes. Resource planning, including managing workflow, department workplanner and prioritising assignments for the audit team Report at monthly Partner Management meetings and feed back to the team. Overall review of efficiency in departmental assignments. Identify additional audit billing opportunities on existing assignments and cross selling for advisory services. Attend and contribute to client meetings Assistance with quoting and pitching for new work Ad hoc department and reporting tasks Audit Team - Onboarding and offboarding Audit Team - HR & Study Matters Audit Team - Holiday, WFH and expense requests Interviews & Recruitment Required experience: Good working knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS102 and FRS102 1A)?? Experience with FRS101 and IFRS desirable Proficient user of Microsoft office, specifically Microsoft excel ACA or ACCA qualified 2-3 years of experience as an audit manager desirable Experience of Mercia audit program structures and Caseware audit & accounts templates (cloud and desktop systems) desirable
