We have four Street Lighting PFI's and work for most local authorities in the areas we operate in. We operate as an ICP and carry out jointing associated with the installation and connection of electrical networks for most of the housing developers in the UK. We have agreements to work on the DNO and IDNO networks in the UK and we are now looking at expanding and growing our Independent Connections Provider business. To assist with this growth and to meet our current obligations we are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking Jointer's mate to join our team. As a Jointers Mate, you'll play a key role in installing and maintaining street lighting and highway electrical street lighting equipment, this also includes assisting the Jointer in making connections to DNO/IDNO networks. Other responsibilities within this role include: The safe use and operation of tools, equipment and vehicles associated with the role up to and including LGV (Cat C) and vehicle mounted lorry loader cranes. Excavation and reinstatement in multiple surface types to current NRSWA standards. Taking full ownership of personal health and safety, in accordance with the Company's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality policies and procedures. This includes those you are working with as well as anyone affected by your operations. Complying with operational working practices, method statements and associated risk assessments. Ensuring correct selection and use of company provided PPE and equipment as required by the relevant risk assessment and method statements relating to each work activity. What we need from you Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship or Street lighting and LV services training programme. Previous Full G39 qualification. Current NRSWA Accreditation. Current First Aid and Manual Handling certificates. Relevant authorisation to carry out 3PH UG connections to DNO/IDNO networks. Understanding operational and 1:500 electrical network diagrams. Current NRSWA accreditation. CSCS accreditation. A current driving licence. LGV (Cat C) driving licence. Right now, we're looking for a Jointer to join our team in Barnsley. Main responsibilities include Carry out mains and service cable jointing on electrical distribution networks DNO and iDNO. Immediate supervision of Jointers Mates. Assist with training. Driving general and specialist vehicles appropriate to the role. Hold relevant DNO/IDNO authorisations to work on 3PH distribution networks. Ensure personnel under control fully understand and adhere to their job requirements. Taking full ownership for personal health and safety responsibilities and that of the team ensuring PPE worn at all times. The ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team. The ability to take a confident but diplomatic approach to customers at all times. Carry out risk assessments and maintain safe working practice. What we need from you Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship or Street lighting and LV services training programme. 18th edition BS7671 wiring regs qualification. Previous Full G39 qualification. Current NRSWA Accreditation. Electrical knowledge to C & G 236 Parts 1 & 2 /2330 Level 1 & 2 or equivalent with extensive and proven relevant trade experience.
