PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: Your new company: We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to work within the elections team on a temporary basis at Norwich City Council. There have been major changes in the way that people can register to vote, meaning we need an administrator who can support processing changes to the elections register and postal vote requests. No previous experience of working in elections or using election software is essential, although experience of working in an administrative field is strongly desired. Your new role:The post holder will be expected to: Ensure all election activities are dealt with confidentially, securely and accurately and documentation is managed according to council procedures To provide general support to the electoral service's manager, including data entry work on the EROS elections management system Scanning and checking documentation; writing letters and emails; providing a filing and archiving service; and the collation and distribution of election documentation. To deal effectively and courteously with telephone, face-to-face and email enquiries from customers. To operate the necessary equipment and computer systems required within the job, following the correct procedures / instructions including computer, scanner, printer, mobile device, and tablet. Work as part of a team, providing support to colleagues to contribute to enhanced team performance. To deliver the service in accordance with key performance indicators and service standards. Be able to work outside normal office hours on occasions during the election period. Make recommendations and identify ways of improving systems and processes. To undertake the personal delivery of electoral related documentation and follow-up non-responses as necessary. What you'll need to succeed: Have great customer service skills. Experience in Data Entry and data compiling. Be able to process large volumes of data and admin. Be patient, compliant, precise, and used to working to deadlines. Work in line with GDPR regulations. Will need to sit some online tests before starting. What you'll get in return:The role will be based at City Hall, Norwich. £11.50 per hour 23 days of holidays bank holidays.
