Our client is busy Local Authority based in the South West of England, and they are seeking an experienced Area Manager to lead two of their Development Management Area Teams for a contract role.
You will be responsible for supporting the team to ensure the effective delivery of planning application assessments, including the management of appeals.
You will act as the Lead Officer and Manager for two of the four Area Planning Committees, leading the two teams of officers focused on delivering high quality development.
Fixed Term Contract - ending on 31st December 2024.

The successful candidate will
You will be the first point of contact for all HR related queries, working closely with the Company Partners and the Heads of all departments in Taunton.
The postholder will report to the Head of Service, will deputise for the Service Manager Development Management and will be required to ensure that the service performs to an excellent level that meets national/legal requirements and responds positively to transformational change and the expectations of a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.

This is a full time role working 38 hours per week with shifts 1030-1730 Tuesday, 0800-1730 Wednesday to Friday, 0730-1500 Saturday
