Job Title: Accounts Assistant Location: Birmingham Job Type: Full-Time, Onsite Reed have partnered with and West midlands-based business who are seeking a Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. The purpose of this role is to support the Management Accountant and Financial Director maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with the preparation of the monthly Management Accounts Key Responsibilities: Match purchase invoices to purchase orders and ensure accurate stock booking. Post approved purchase invoices into the accountancy software. Assist in maintaining financial records by posting transactions into the accounting system. Conduct daily bank reconciliations to ensure all financial records are accurate and up-to-date. Manage customer account numbers, allocate payments to suppliers, and post website sales receipts. Process sales invoices after delivery notes are issued, verify invoices are sent and recorded correctly, and advise sales reps on received payments. Review customer returns, issue credit notes, and assist the purchasing director with PoDs for MOD orders. Handle email queries regarding price discrepancies and deliveries. Perform data entry with meticulous attention to detail. Liaise with customers and suppliers professionally, addressing finance-related queries via telephone and email. Ensure consistent sales & purchase ledger management. Create new customer and supplier accounts on the accounting system. Conduct weekly credit control with the Finance Director, update credit control files, send payment reminders, and resolve any arising issues. Requirements for Accounts Assistant: AAT level 3 / 4 Working knowledge of general accounting procedures and bookkeeping. Experience with Sage or Intact IQ Experience with Excel Excellent attention to detail and data entry skills.
