Our client, an advisory firm, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their small team based in Kibworth. This role will be working with the Managing Director and wider commercial team to deliver accurate and timely finance information to support company decision within a niche area. The ideal candidate would be studying ATT or QBE and have a minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar role preferably within a technical and regulated industry. To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the ability to work methodically, showing a high level of attention to detail. You will have an inquisitive mind, with the confidence to ask questions and seek further information. Salary and benefits: 9.00am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday (35 hours per week) 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Stuatory pension (NEST) £28,000 - £30,000 Study support (will be taken into consideration) Duties and responsibilities: Management of the sales and purchase ledger Bank reconciliations Daily receipt processing Prepare payment runs (BACS) Completion of credit control weekly Accruals and prepayments VAT returns Assist with monthly management accounts for multiple companies. Financial / MI reporting Dealing with accounts enquiries Management of utilities contracts Expenses / credit card reconciliation Experience and Skills: QBE or AAT studier desirable Minimum of 2 years within a similar role Strong attention to detail Experience of using accounting software packages (Xero desirable) Good excel skills (VLOOKUP's, pivot tables and formulas) A self-starter who is resourceful and can take initiative on tasks from start to finish Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload A team player and works well within a small team

Manage your own portfolio of complex clients. Statutory payments - Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Maternity Pay, PAYE and National Insurance etc. Processing of Year-End procedures. Provide 1st line support for payroll queries. Liaise with HMRC when required. Process Tax Code changes. Manual calculations. Experience using Excel for data input / management. Producing reports. Assist with any ad-hoc duties as required by the department. Experience Minimum of two years' experience within an accountancy practice processing client based payroll Strong start to finish experience. Can work towards tight deadlines and handle pressure.
