The purpose of this role is
To manage a programme of major housing Capital and improvement projects, of up to around £5 million p.a., in value, from identification through to completion, including development, planning, briefing, co-ordination, monitoring and control, usually within a 'partnering' relationship, so as to secure effective outcomes which meet Newham Council's objectives.
I am recruiting for a local authority who is looking for a Duty officer who will join the main team on a duty rota basis taking new homeless applications, seeking to prevent and relieve homelessness whilst also accessing as per the relevant legislation PVII Housing Act 1996 as amended by Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
To provide an effective, customer-friendly and efficient service to clients who are often vulnerable and with complex needs who are presenting with housing problems; to support them in keeping their current home, or in accessing a new home in the public or private housing sector.
Assessments are generally by telephone (though in person where a need).
Independent Chair - Newham Transformation and Improvement Board
London Borough of Newham are seeking an exceptional senior leader to provide independent leadership and guidance to the Newham Transformation and Improvement Board as the Independent Chair.
The successful candidate will be responsible for attending bi-monthly board meetings and providing independent advice, support, and constructive challenges to NTIB partners and organisations.
