Position Summary: As NDT Team Lead you will be responsible for assisting with the specification, documentation, and verification of NDT requirements for the business and associated clients. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that all NDT activities within the business align with industry requirements, particularly BS EN 15085. Leading a Team of NDT Technicians, duties will include: Update all systems and databases with careful attention to detail. To produce quality documents i.e., technique sheets, SOPs, and Templates. Assist in maintaining a high level of work quality for the workshop and off-site. Ensure compliance with standards and ensure the latest standards are in use. Serve as a liaison between the team and management. Calibration of all NDT equipment. Review, approve and release NDT reports to customers. Surveillance on and off-site (NDT technicians). Recording RFT to improve productivity and training. 80/20 split between Team Management and On Shop Floor Testing Essential Skills/Experience: Demonstrable leadership and professionalism skills. Comfortable advocating and problem-solving when needed. A critical thinker with a positive attitude. Dedicated to continuous improvement and attention to detail Good understanding of VT-MPI-DPI- UT processes and standards. Established technical expertise in NDT. A fantastic opportunity for a suitably qualified and expereinced Engineer to work with our Bolton based defence client conduscting electrical inspection. Applicants must have had significant recent third party inspection experience as this will be a major part of the role. Responsibilities: Responsible for all elements necessary to achieve and maintain the quality of deliverable hardware. Certification of product in line with processes and procedures. Examining for correct assembly including verifying all forms of electrical connections. Examining the finish of all parts to detect faulty finishing or painting, deterioration of surfaces etc. Inspect for physical damage. Intermediate inspection checks for non-Product Certification activities. Monitoring of operators within the Product Certification Scheme. Check, complete and certify all paperwork associated with the manufacturing data pack. Control of non-conforming items. Raise and maintain relevant data records/non-conformance reports. Produce relevant inspection/quality control documentation/history sheets. Care for and use specialised inspection tools. Maintain product certification and approval via regular audits. Ensure compliance with all associated procedures applicable to the manufacturing process. Ensure inspection times are met. Possess a versatile skill base with the capability to apply these skills across a range of tasks. Maintain to the highest level, workmanship standards and product quality. Maintain a safe working environment. Maintain a good housekeeping policy. Willing to contribute to an environment of process improvement. Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship to NVQ Level 3/TR23/TR21or HNC. Several years, experience as a skilled person. IPC 610 & IPC 620 certified / trained preferred. Manual handling training. ESD Training. No colour blindness.
