Network Management Technician Job Type: Full-time, Office-based Location: Leicestershire Salary: £13.70 per hour Leicestershire County Council is actively seeking a Grade 8 Network Management Technician with a deep understanding of the New Road & Street Works Act (NRSWA), Road Space Booking/Permitting systems, One Network management, and Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders (TTRO). This role is crucial for managing the highway network effectively, reducing congestion, and ensuring safe and reliable journeys for road users. The ideal candidate will be able to support the Network Coordinator and NRSWA Inspector and hit the ground running on a 3-month basis, with the possibility of extension. Day to Day of the role: Collate and provide information related to network management and associated activities. Support liaison with stakeholders to manage enquiries, negotiations, and disputes. Assist in the coordination and authorisation of works notifications, permit applications, and NRSWA licence applications. Authorise and issue private Street Works licenses in accordance with processes and procedures. Support the management of the Highway asset and network data for efficient network use. Assist the NRSWA Inspector with inspections and follow-up actions, including issuing improvement notices or sanctions. Monitor progress and ensure satisfactory conclusion of remedial works, reporting any non-compliance as necessary. Manage the administration of fees, charges, and associated costs. Support the governance and analysis of data on network management performance. Ensure correct traffic management provisions are in place for effective network management and safety. Work effectively without supervision, adhering to policies and guidelines to meet targets. Required Skills & Qualifications: In-depth understanding of NRSWA, Road Space Booking/Permitting systems, One Network, and TTRO. Ability to work efficiently and effectively within a team and independently. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Competency in using IT systems compliant with the Electronic Transfer of Notifications (EToN). Proven ability to manage complex tasks and meet deadlines.
