Your new role Reporting to the finance director, the Management Accountant's role is to provide a well-rounded skillset, working in a small finance team and alongside a variety of departments within the company. The role will predominantly focus on the aspects of cost accounting, including costing products in support of bid & proposals, data analysis of sales & margins, setting department rates and maintaining the fixed asset register. The Management Accountant will drive meaningful financial analysis by interrogating data and business systems to compile and create reports to Finance Stakeholders within the business. Accordingly, it is expected the role-holder will possess advanced excel and analytical skills, to be able to transform data into information and communicate to non-finance professionals within the business. It is expected that drawing on previous professional and academic experience, the Management Accountant will bring a degree of challenge to the role, displaying a questioning mind and challenging assumptions provided to them by the wider business. The holder of the position should possess the desire to make improvements where required and seek professional and personal development opportunities at every step. The Management Accountant will also play an important role in the implementation of Phase 2 of SAP, which will require a continuous improvement mindset and the ability to adapt to dynamic, pressured conditions.
