Graduate Medical Device Engineer Princess Royal University Hospital - Orpington You must have at least 2 -3 years UK based work experience to apply for this role. Our client is the leading service provider of Managed Equipment Services (MES) for the NHS and the private health sector in the UK. They are currently looking for a Graduate Medical Device Engineer to join their team based at Princess Royal University Hospital. To be considered for this role you must have an BEng in Engineering, Electronics or Medical Technologies such as Biomedical Engineering, have strong written and oral communication and a solid understanding of Microsoft Office. Purpose of the role To learn all attributes of medical device management Under guidance carry out daily on-site medical devices repairs, preventative maintenance, acceptances & decommission of medical devices to meet contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within specified hospital location Build long term relationships with customers, subcontractors and staff to ensure responsiveness and superior customer service Task List Complete generic company annual training during the first 3 months e.g., DSE, H & S etc To attend and complete the existing 6 x medical devices modules that constitute the Certification in Medical Technologies in the first year Graduates will have regular meetings 3 to 4 times per year with the Training Manager to check progress & development Shadowing Team Leader/Senior Engineers, asking questions, and assisting wherever possible Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) on medical equipment as per manufacturer's guidelines Complete basic repairs under guidance as required on medical equipment as per manufacturer's guidelines Complete all associated administrative work in completing repairs and preventative maintenance as outlined in company procedures Ensure that all work undertaken is documented in the appropriate manner, recorded and updated using the equipment database and that comprehensive equipment history is maintained Work closely with technical and clinical staff to provide high standards of service delivery, making continual improvements in the management of medical equipment across the organisation Maintain proper control over the ordering and use of spare parts wherever necessary Support customers whenever needed to ensure minimal disruption to the operation of the hospital Maintain safe working practices within the hospital environment Maintain service documentation in line with business requirements Maintain tools and test equipment in line with company Standards Follow any other reasonable project related request from your line manager Essential Qualifications BEng in Engineering, Electronics or Medical Technologies such as Biomedical Engineering Essential Skills Excellent Customer Relationship skills Excellent written and oral communication Good working knowledge of MS Office suite, Excel Superior integrity and discretion Mobility Requirements Role location - Site based UK travel - Yes (Training Courses) Benefits Royal London Pension - 5% employer contribution Death in Service Scheme after probation - 4 times salary Maternity - 21 weeks full enhanced maternity pay; this is inclusive of Statutory Maternity pay.
