Job Title: Mechanical Fitter (Rolling Stock) Job Location: Ilford, London Shifts: 4 on 4 off days & Nights Hourly Rate: Days - £18.74 PAYE / £23.77 Umbrella Nights - £24.92 PAYE / £31.83 Umbrella Saturday - £28.11 PAYE /£35.99 Umbrella (All hours Sunday - £37.48 PAYE /£48.20 Umbrella (All hours) Hours Per Week: 44 hours per week Duration: Ongoing Start Date: ASAP Company Summary Europes largest Rolling Stock Producer, maintainer and servicing organisation is looking for Mechanical and Electrical Experienced Engineers to join a well established team at a busy rail depot in East London Position Summary: The role is carrying out Mechanical overhaul including stripping and refitting. You will be specifically focused on modifications, interior strip and replace on modern Aventra Stock within a mid-sized heavy maintenance depot. This position is the key focal point for the safe and reliable running of the fleet and is a key requirement against the Service Agreement (SA). This is a safety Critical position working on a busy live rail maintenance depot and in this role you would be expected to complete the following: Work from written instruction (VMI) Work from Engineering drawings, working to specific measurements Removal of interiors and body sides Rebuilding on the vehicle sides Refitting, Seats, Grab Rails, Poles etc. Remove large components such as axle boxes, bogies, valves and couplers Replacing mechanical components to correspond to engineering drawings Person Profile: You will be a highly self-motivated individual as training to develop will be given to these individuals. Attitude and enthusiasm is key for this role you should be able to follow detailed instructions as an eye for details is key to this role. Following on the job competency based training you will be able to work under your own initiative. Candidates from the following background will be considered: Rolling Stock HGV and PCV Technicians Plant Maintenance Audio Visual Engineers Engineering Services Maintenance Rail RAF, REME, Army, Navy Ideal applicants would have had some maintenance, servicing or fitting experience on vehicle types ranging from Cars to Aeroplanes. Also due to the nature of the programme candidates must be able to work days & nights which will include working at the weekend. Key Responsibilities: Plant fitter covering all types of machinery including fixed plant, crushers, screeners, excavators, loaders, shovels, wood /?waster grinders, dozers, vehicles, pumps, and all types of plant used on tips, transfer stations and demolition sites Maintain, repair and service all equipment as per manufacturer's specifications Attend any location or sites to maintain, repair and service vehicles and plant in the event of breakdown if required Maintain parts stock or advise manager in relation to any required purchases Ensure knowledge of technical advances is kept up to date and advise if additional training or equipment is required Ensure work area is kept clean, tidy and complies with all relative legislation Make sure work is conducted in a safe manner and equipment and facilities supplied are used in a way to enable this Identify and report any apparent vehicle/?plant misuse Key Requirements: Full driving licence required Experienced in vehicle/?pant inspection and repair.
