The primary function of the role is to ensure the accurate preparation and submission of 'on-time' quotes on both Commercial & Residential Projects. The Mechanical Estimator is responsible for calculating the costs of a project before work commences, covering everything from materials, labour, equipment hire, transport costs and everything in between. JOB CONTEXT AND DIMENSIONS Load all New Leads into Simpro Management System Download Tender Doc's and Produce Quantified Material Take Off's in Ensign Create 'Take-Offs' and build accurate tender submissions for our customers Gather pricing information from suppliers (where not already held) Manage multiple concurrent tenders Create new & maintain existing catalogue items with regular price updates Produce Airflow Calculations Amend quotes based on the Senior Estimators instruction and/or Client's feedback Regular project tracking and tender note updates Assist with 'Project Win Forecast' for Senior Estimator & Head of Projects review Deliver 'New Project Start' handover meetings with operations team Coordinate with the project delivery team to obtain up to date, relevant installation information Experience Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator Proficient in Cad & Ensign software packages Strong knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems An understanding of ductwork installation would be an advantage Specific Skills Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, and specifications Excellent mathematical and analytical skills, with attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communications Proficient in all Microsoft Office programmes Ability to manage workload under pressure and to deadlines If you are interested in this role please contact Josh @ Hunter Mason Consulting

Estimator £50,000 Car Allowance Permanent, Hybrid remote Sheffield My client is looking to add an experienced Estimator to the company with a bias in Mechanical Engineering, you will be overseeing all aspects of estimating within this role and department, from plans and proposals to material and time contraints. You will be working with a well established engineering business support company who work alongside a wide range of indsutries, supporting various blue chip and non blue chip clients in their project needs. Responsibilities: Prepare work to be estimated, gathering all proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents for the workload. Identifying labour, materials, and time restraints Compile costs by analysing labour, material, and time restraints. Resolving discrepancies by collecting and analysing data. Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information. Prepare special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends. Maintain cost data base by entering and backing up data. Maintain a log of all estimates coming into and leaving the business and analyses win/loss rates and reasoning. Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications. Support the business in anyway necessary as appropriate when requested by Directors or Management.
