Your new role As Materials Buyer, you will be responsible for the effective spend management of £12m of both material spend and indirect spend. The role entails managing key commercial relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, so you will need to be a confident communicator who can easily adapt their communication style to suit your audience. You will monitor and track market rates for materials, and you will effectively negotiate with suppliers to agree terms and prices which are commercially viable and favourable, which deliver the best value for money. The majority of the role is focused around raw materials spend, so ideally, you will have prior experience in this area of spend already. The role is office based 5 days per week and the working hours are Monday-Thursday 0800-1600, and Friday 0800-1530. Reporting to the Site MD this role is crucial to support in the delivery of exceptional quality products to their customers. Main duties and responsibilities: Source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for production. Evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts to ensure best terms and pricing. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors to optimise supply chain efficiency. Monitor inventory levels and manage stock replenishment to meet production demands.
