Job Title: Buyer / Purchaser Job Type: Full-time Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 Location: Liverpool, United Kingdom Overview: As a Buyer/Purchaser, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing and purchasing products and supplies for bars, nightclubs, and restaurants in Liverpool. Your responsibilities include negotiating with suppliers, managing inventory levels, and ensuring that all purchases meet quality and budgetary requirements. Your ability to build strong supplier relationships, analyse market trends, and make strategic purchasing decisions will contribute to the success and profitability of our establishments. Responsibilities: Supplier Management: Identify and source new suppliers for beverages, food items, equipment, and other supplies required for venue operations Negotiate contracts, prices, and terms with suppliers to obtain the best possible deals and ensure cost-effectiveness Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and addressing any issues that may arise Purchasing and Inventory Management: Plan and coordinate procurement based on the needs of each venue Monitor inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent stockouts and minimize excess inventory Implement inventory control measures to reduce wastage and improve efficienc Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks on products and supplies to ensure they meet established standards for freshness, quality, and safety Collaborate with suppliers to address quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary Market Analysis and Trend Forecasting: Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities related to the licensed trade. Analyse sales data and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product improvements or new offerings. Anticipate changes in consumer preferences and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly. Budget Management: Develop and manage purchasing budgets for each venue, ensuring expenditures stay within approved limits. Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize purchasing processes to reduce expenses. Key Requirements: Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the licensed trade or hospitality industry Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
