Please Zoe on call or email for a slot An exceptional opportunity for a Production Scheduler to take the reins of the operations planning and scheduling function within a leading defence organisation based in Staffordshire. You'll lead the charge in creating and maintaining the production schedule for all company-manufactured products. You will support the delivery of operational excellence by consistently meeting program schedule, cost, and quality benchmarks. You'll collaborate with Production, Engineering, Programme Management, and Supply Chain to ensure timely project and order delivery. Your role involves developing a strategy for effective planning and scheduling, ensuring quality execution of production plans by identifying necessary resources. Early involvement in product lifecycle informs production needs. Within Supply Chain, you'll work on scheduling and procurement strategies with the ERP and Procurement team, while also reporting production performance to program management. The Role: So, what will you be doing as a Production Scheduler? Develop and implement a strategy to establish planning and scheduling capabilities, ensuring alignment with long-, mid-, and short-term production needs (including resources like personnel, processes, materials, and assets) for quality production execution. Create planning and scheduling tools to translate forecast demand into production requirements, facilitating efficient production slot allocation and milestone delivery tracking. Maintain the master production schedule, adjusting as necessary to accommodate changes in customer demand or production constraints. Generate regular reports on order status and production progress to meet customer deliverables, identifying and resolving scheduling problems in collaboration with relevant departments. Drive continuous improvement in scheduling efficiency and develop tools to analyse production performance, informing capacity planning and articulating the impact of program changes on delivery milestones. Engage early in the product lifecycle to inform bid and program management activities, collaborating on solutions to meet customer requirements and expectations. What are we looking for in our next Production Scheduler? Strong planning and scheduling experience, preferably in defence. Track record in cultural change and continuous improvement. Qualifications in lean, six sigma, or project management are advantageous. Proficient negotiator and influencer, driving results with or without formal authority. Detail-oriented, delivery-focused, and adept at prioritization. Skilled in devising and executing strategies, simplifying complex situations. Capable of fostering engagement across large organizations. Effective communicator, adept at issue resolution and consensus-building. Self-motivated and able to inspire others while working independently. Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrated leadership in collaborative settings, and proficient in providing clear feedback.
