About the role The role involves the growth of single crystal boules as part of the production activity. Your Responsibilities include: Set and adjust computerised or mechanical controls to regulate power level, temperature, vacuum, and rotation speed of furnace, according to crystal growing specifications Observe and monitor material meltdown and crystal growth, and readjust equipment controls as necessary Load equipment with materials to grow crystals of semiconductor material Inspect equipment for leaks, diagnose equipment malfunctions and request repairs Analyse processing procedures and equipment functions to identify and resolve semiconductor crystal growth problems Replace furnace liners and pressure chamber accessories Maintain product quality by processing materials according to instructions Assist in the delivery of CI initiatives Maintain the production data and complete all required paperwork Prepare seed crystals in readiness for the growth process Prepare and start up a process for single crystal growth Monitor and maintain the processes in the growth department Complete/shutdown the processes in the growth department Maintain the operational standard in accordance with the defined schedule Separate & dispose of by-products and waste as appropriate Undergo cross training on other processes as and when required About you Experience of handling chemicals An awareness of COSHH regulations and the adherence to procedures and risk assessments is desirable Familiarity with process control and Statistical Process Control techniques would be an advantage. About the role As a shift process engineer you will be responsible for translating customer's requirements into finished product that meets the customer defined physical, electronic and optical specifications. Carrying out these duties on a shifted basis and providing the main technical focal point out-of-normal working hours. Key responsibilities include; Scheduling bays to achieve released orders. Ensuring quality and specification are to highest standard. Ensure that all customer requirements are met in full and on time. To inspect all pertinent production and characterisation data and to subsequently authorise the release of product to the customer. Technical support for issues arising in connection with the operation of the bays Ensure that technical data (internal/external characterisation, customer feedback) is used in an effective manner Provide 1st pass problem solving activities prior to escalation to Senior Engineering Team To prepare & present report on product & production related data (including for customers) as required. To monitor reactor performance and identify solutions to production problems To participate in bay improvement programs Adhering to all internal safety, HR, environmental and quality guidelines & procedures. About you Graduate in a scientific or engineering discipline, ideally involving some degree of semiconductor technology experience. A very good understanding of the MOVPE process, characterization & hardware capabilities, processes & procedures. The role Efficient and correct to specification Mechanical assembly, hydraulic installation, electrical wiring, and fitting operations, linked to the manufacture, service and repair of access platforms. Competent build inspection of all stages. Compliance with health and safety standards, flexibility, and development of skills through the complete manufacturing process, and the production/product cells. Maintain a high standard of 5' s workplace organisation. Continuous improvement/elimination of waste, through 'Lean Manufacturing techniques/tools. The Candidate Proven and/or certified trade electrical or mechanical fitting. Knowledge and experience of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fitting and installation. About the Role To provide Equipment Engineering support to production by managing the various systems in terms of breakdown maintenance, planned maintenance, record keeping and performance. To enact timely fault finding and repairs to manufacturing systems and ensure continuous improvement by identifying and implementing lasting solutions to production problems Key Responsibilities Performs basic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment. The day to day maintenance of our manufacturing systems Maintenance of various electrical, mechanical and pressure systems, carrying out corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance as per documented procedures. Continual improvement of reliability and performance of systems and equipment Proactive involvement in the support of MOCVD process improvement and problem solving programmes To provide site wide engineering and maintenance support To provide medium and long term planned preventive maintenance function and record keeping To monitor reactor performance and identify problems and establish and implement lasting solutions to those problems To service and refurbish various machine component to the required standard To follow set work instructions when carrying out machine source material changes Qualifications / Essential Skills HNC/HND/Degree in an engineering discipline Experience within the semiconductor, medical or aerospace industry is desirable.
