CAD Cost Estimator - Manufacturing & Engineering - Hull - Up to £35,000 About the Company Due to company growth, our client is seeking a CAD Cost Estimator to join a small team. The successful candidate will have drafting experience and ideally come from a manufacturing engineering estimating background and candidates with metalwork industry experience will be viewed highly favourably. Candidates with knowledge of the welding, laser cut fabrication, punching press brake and CNC machining industry and are actively looking to go into an estimating/design office-based engineering role will be well suited. CAD Cost Estimator - The Rewards Competitive salary Working hours: 39 Shifts: (Mon - Thurs 07.30 - 16.30 & Fri 07.30 - 12.30) Company pension Free parking On-site parking Sick pay CAD Cost Estimator - Requirements Ability to read and translate technical drawings is essential Engineering apprenticeship, formal engineering qualification or industry experience is preferable Computer literate is essential, with experience on the Amada software being a bonus Attention to details and taking pride in your work & company performance Commitment and drive to enhance the performance of the business An excellent working knowledge of mechanical engineering Excellent interpersonal, communicative, listening, and negotiation skills Ability to use own initiative as well as working effectively as part of a team Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritise Resilience when working to fixed deadlines CAD Cost Estimator - Responsibilities Working as a team of 3 estimators including on-site sales and engineer support Formulating quotations and creating estimate costs from costing each component from reading CAD or engineering drawings Identifying the most suitable and cost-effective process route to manufacture components via internal capabilities and sub-contract operations Development into programming of nesting and punching machines Receive and review RFQ's and engineering drawings from customer RFQ's team Liaise, communicate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain subcontract costs Prepare cost sheets for individual components and assemblies to deadlines, ready for the quotation Assist with preparation of production components and material which will involve working with various internal teams and uploading on to our ERP system Work effectively with other members of the estimating department and wider business to achieve the most effective and competitive solutions Supporting with business/costing queries on our ERP system through reviewing process routes and BOMs About Us Detail2Recruitment acts as an employment agency in respect of this position.
