Payroll Manager Location - Sandwich, Kent Salary - Up to £50,000 per annum DOE Hours - 37.5 hrs per week, Monday - Friday Permanent - Office based Our client is a major supplier of contract staff within the civil engineering/tunneling industries, and they are looking for an ambitious and energetic Payroll Manager to join this well-established family-run business. As the Payroll Manager, you will... Oversee and manage payroll operations, addressing queries from team members and colleagues Lead and manage the payroll team daily, including scheduling holidays, conducting appraisals, and facilitating one-to-one meetings. You will also set daily tasks and organise training sessions Conduct bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with team members and report insights to management Ensure the payroll team completes all necessary training on time Manage processes related to new hires, departures, sick pay, holiday allowances, and more Ensure payroll payments are prepared accurately and processed through SAGE and BACS Attend and provide reports at bi-weekly team meetings, detailing the team's activities Participate in and present at manager and quarterly meetings Represent the payroll team in internal and external client meetings as needed Prepare and submit all required reports, such as FPS & EPS, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations Take joint responsibility for pension regulation duties and ensure that pension data letters are prepared weekly Oversee all HMRC duties and submissions, ensuring compliance with changing tax laws and regulations Serve as a payroll expert, providing guidance and support to other managers as required Ensure all calls and inquiries are addressed promptly and effectively Perform general office duties as necessary Comply with company quality processes and procedures Skills and Experience required for the role of Payroll Manager: Proven experience in supervising a payroll team Proficiency in using Sage 50 software Experience in processing large payrolls with accuracy Exceptional attention to detail Strong leadership and communication skills A minimum of 3-4 years of in-house payroll experience To find out more about the Payroll Manager position, please apply and we will be in touch to discuss the role in more detail.
