An opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Design Manager to join a UK company that manufactures leading technology protection relays and medium voltage circuit breakers often for highly critical electrical power systems across a global client base. This is an excellent role for an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineer familiar with concept design through to final product manufacturing, ideally from a switchgear background and willing to lead a team, undertaking an end-to-end approach. As Engineering Design Manager, your responsibilities will include: Taking a lead role in design and managing the team Being active in discovering and investigating new manufacturing processes and techniques Interpreting client requirements into functional cost-effective designs Liaising from design through to inhouse fabrication as well as externally with clients and suppliers We're looking for an Engineering Design Manager with: HNC/HND with relevant experience or BSc/BEng Electrical / Mechanical Graduate Experience using SolidWorks to produce unambiguous manufacturing and assembly drawings Experience of IEC62271 and ENA TS41-36 standards Familiarity of type testing switchgear including dielectric, short circuit, pd and mechanical endurance You will be working 37.5 hours per week. Ability to communicate (written & verbal) in English and the local language at CEFR Level B2 or higher. Experience of working to appropriate health & safety standards and regulations. Solid computer skills (MS Office, CAD). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Full working knowledge of all specialized engineering and facilities equipment within the Fulfillment Center (FC) as well as maintenance and safety procedures. Experience working with PLC based control systems. Project Management experience. Knowledge of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) programs. The organisation and planning of the entire works from start to finish. The production of technical submissions and description of operations.
