Disrepair Surveyor Location: London, Essex, and the South of England Salary: Highly negotiable Job Type: Full-time Hours 9-5 3 month contract, initially Start ASAP We are seeking a Disrepair Surveyor to join our Surveying Team, providing front-line customer service and ensuring the operational delivery of services, including specialist works and professional services. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and the ability to develop effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Day to Day of the role: Develop and maintain relationships to support customers and ensure effective service delivery. Monthly estate engagement visits Weekly day resident engagement days Assess client needs and provide resolutions to queries and issues, managing expectations and identifying proactive solutions. Update and maintain systems/records to ensure data accuracy and meet KPIs. Provide professional technical advice, project, and contractor management to deliver a high-quality maintenance service. Manage cases from start to finish, updating stakeholders and databases regularly. Ensure budget responsibilities are met and contribute to forecasting and efficiency plans. Manage contractors to ensure they deliver in line with their contracts and KPIs. Conduct pre-inspections and building surveys, prepare detailed reports, specifications, and cost estimates for remedial works. Provide technical advice on building defects and diagnosis, including post-inspections of repairs. Assist in the delivery of specialist work programmes, ensuring standard compliance and value for money. Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and meet key performance indicators. Participate in the emergency out of hours rota, which includes evenings and weekends on a rota basis. Required Skills & Qualifications: Independent work capability with good initiative and judgement. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven time management and prioritisation skills. Experience delivering excellent customer care and valuing diversity. Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines and targets. Extensive experience in building surveying, preferably within a social housing context. Experience managing complex caseloads from inception to completion. Strong customer relationship management skills. Knowledge of Schedule of Rates, methods of measurement, and ensuring Value for Money. Up-to-date knowledge of Health & Safety and relevant legislation. Strong IT skills. Teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate and contribute to the organisation's mission. Experience preparing and delivering high-quality reports and presentations. Qualifications: Degree in Building Surveying or similar technical qualification (HND, HNC). Professional Membership is preferred.
