Operations Manager 8-month Fixed Term Contract Excellent Day Rate (PAYE or Ltd) Derbyshire Join Our Team: Operations Manager We are seeking an Operations Manager for an 8-month fixed-term contract in Derbyshire. This position is to lead a small but dedicated fitting and logistics / warehouse team, to ensure the safe and smooth running of the site. Key Responsibilities: Inspire and manage a compact fitting team and a warehouse team. Develop and implement efficient site-wide systems, enhancing communication between Administration and Warehouse. Foster a robust Health & Safety culture, ensuring best practices are second nature. Educate and support our warehouse Health & Safety lead to reinforce a positive safety culture. Oversee production scheduling to guarantee timely deliveries. Manage local courier services and seek opportunities to optimize transport strategies. Procure necessary PPE and ensure the site's Health & Safety compliance. Maintain a log for annual servicing to keep equipment up to standard and legislatively compliant. Collaborate with the UK Quality Manager to uphold ISO standards and documentation. Manage non-conforming materials effectively, ensuring a solid audit trail. Objectives: Lead by example to motivate the entire team. Accelerate production to meet sales demands. Elevate and maintain high Health & Safety and Quality standards. Foster clear communication and information sharing with Administration and Senior Management. Identify and address training needs, ensuring peak team performance. Ensure accurate and timely completion of year-end stock take and financial audits. Essential Skills: Previous operations management experience Exceptional communication abilities. Proficiency in MS Office & Excel. A solid grasp of Health & Safety in a production environment. Ideally IOSH certified. Familiarity with Quality Management systems. Understanding of inventory management. Experience of managing small teams. Prior management experience within logistics would be extremely beneficial. Although this is a fixed-term-contract, I would expect applicants to be within a reasonable commute of Derby, as opposed to paying to stop away. Reporting To: UK Operations Lead and UK General Manager Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am 4:30 pm. Contact customers once projects/jobs have been completed and received by the customer to gain feedback - feedback is to be logged and communicated to internal teams. Provide answers to queries from customers which have gone unanswered, or which require further investigation. Build sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication. Liaise with the sales team, production team, and management. Experience/knowledge requirements for a Quality Control Manager: Previous experience in a similar customer care/quality controller role in a similar manufacturing industry. Attention to detail. Confident in challenging any production that isn't meeting company standards. Excellent communication skills. IT literate. Good organisational skills. Problem solving abilities.
