Purpose of role
The Underwriting team oversees and executes the commercial and group underwriting activities of the business, encompassing pricing, forecasting, risk analysis, policy allocation, and management of "out-of-binder" proposals.
Their primary objective is to ensure that the technical performance of the company's insurance-backed products consistently meets designated target thresholds.
To support the CUO and Portfolio Director with underwriting expertise to help build, analyse and review underwriting plans- liaising regularly between insurers and the MGA in the development of underwriting strategy specific to binders/insurer and in developing and monitoring best practice underwriting standards across the business.
Responsibilities
Attend insurer meetings -both formal and ad hoc -and produce or provide inputs to those meetings as required and work with the MGA to implement agreed underwriting and pricing strategy.
Due to the continued growth and success of the business, we now require an additional two Administration Assistants (Underwriting Assistant) within the Mortgage Underwriting department working within the wider Operations Team.
