Senior Quality Engineer £30,000 per annum Monday to Friday 8am until 4pm Daventry, Northants Permanent Our Daventry based client are looking to recruit a permanent Senior Quality Engineer. They are one of the UK's leading Automotive OE small / medium volume component and accessory parts specialists. Senior Quality Engineer Responsibilities: Support the management of all quality-related issues within the manufacturing & goods receiving teams (e.g. internal, supplier, customer and customer warranty) Be instrumental in the identification of defect root cause and instigate permanent corrective actions for product quality issues. Routine use of Global 8D process Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues that arise as quickly and efficiently as possible to prevent compromising quality and safety standards Carry out / assist staff members with product and process audits Ensure control plans and associated documentation are implemented and maintained Is empowered to stop production in the event of unacceptable goods/processes, identify the resolution actions needed in order to re-start production. Ensure compliance and assist with adherence to/ auditing of the Business Management system including (TS16949/ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001 or ISO45001) where required Assist with training of quality awareness Ensure that all areas of the business are working to the SOPs and identify where actions need to be taken to resolve. Periodically report to management on the topic Assist with first off sample approvals Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for APQP & continuous improvement such as Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke (Error Proofing), and Measurement System Analysis Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements Participate in the development and refinement of Process FMEA's (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) Lead process improvement activities Write reports as required and present progress at the relevant meetings Produce high quality written reports and be confident to give presentations Act as mentor to other Quality Department personnel Act as a single point of contact with supplier quality/ management contacts Positively develops the working relationships with the supply base Actively works to resolve issues relating to supplier non-conforming material in a timely manner.
