PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT - CLIMATE AND CARBON Salary: £42,000 Location: London (hybrid) The Role ?Our Air Quality & Climate Change Team is headed by an experienced Director and comprises several technical colleagues, including from across other Business Units. We are seeking a Senior Consultant or Principal Consultant (grade subject to experience) to further strengthen the climate change capacity and expertise within the team. You will have the opportunity to help shape the future of our work in what is a fast moving, globally important and exciting topic area. As a valuable member of the team, you will have proven experience in consultancy (reflective of your proposed grade). Senior and Principal Consultants will contribute to the development of business area strategy, lead projects and bids and provide support to the development of more junior colleagues. The role will contribute to existing projects, familiar with PAS 2080, mainly upon delivery of Climate Change Chapters for EIA, Whole Life Carbon Assessments and production of Circular Economy Statements and help further develop our portfolio of climate change work. Your expertise, experience, network of contacts and interests will contribute significantly in setting our future strategic direction in this area. The duties: Work with the Team's Director to provide project delivery of climate change assessments at a major project level Provide technical expertise in one or more of the following fields: climate change mitigation analysis, whole life carbon assessment (building and/or infrastructure), circular economy, low carbon technologies and energy efficiency, climate change adaptation, greenhouse gas emissions inventories/analysis, carbon models/tools, Produce technical report for clients, including writing, checking and review of deliverables. Develop client relationships and undertake bidding work including preparing, contributing to and reviewing bids/tenders. Communicate, liaise and collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues. Help grow and develop the wider team ?Consultancy requires knowledge of project management techniques and methodologies. We expect all candidates to have a passion for project delivery, ensuring client satisfaction is achieved on time and within budget. Candidates: Successful candidates will have (commensurate to professional grade): A passion for the environment and delivering proven sustainability outcomes. Educated to degree level in a relevant field with further degree or professional qualification advantageous. Specialism in one or more key climate change fields, and/or experience in EIA consultancy for built environment and infrastructure. Experience of managing and taking responsibility for delivering successful projects of different sizes. Experience of preparing bids, including the development of methodology and presentations. Strong networking capability and a well-developed network of contacts. Confidence, excellent written and oral communication skills, energy and enthusiasm, and a creative approach to problem solving.

We carry out a wide range of bespoke planning and environmental assessments - everything from air quality monitoring, Environmental Statement reviews, through to environment management and consents on large scale projects. We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and experienced Principal Consultant/Associate Director to work within our Environmental Management and Consents team in Birmingham (or alternatively a London location could be considered), delivering and managing projects and helping to grow our business in this area as well as to further build our clients market presence. The Role The positions are for enthusiastic and motivated Principals/ Associate Director who will be part of the Environmental Management and Consents team and work closely with the business unit lead. The ideal candidates will be comfortable in attending client's sites, travelling to them and conducting meetings with their staff as necessary. We are looking for Environment Management and Consents experience in delivery, delivering training to a range of audiences and ideally construction experience. All roles will work closely with our internal teams (including Planning, Acoustics, Air Quality, Digital Delivery, Ecology and EIA Infrastructure and Property) and a wide range of external partners, to deliver ?We would expect the candidate to have specialist knowledge in one or more of the following: Preparation and delivery of Environment Management Plans and Consent Management Plans and maintaining consents registers; ?Preparation of material to support pre- submission discussions; ?Liaison with Consenting Authorities; and Construction knowledge and background working through design and construction sequencing; and Integrated Management Systems including Environment management processes. Principals will be expected to lead or contribute to bids for projects of all scales. Their role within project delivery may be as project director, project manager, framework manager and/or technical lead. They would also be expected to assist with the training / mentoring of junior members of the team. Demonstrable knowledge of environment management and consents.
