You will join a team of reporters across EMEA and the Americas responsible for covering the biggest stories and companies in metals and mining -- from billion-dollar mergers to drama-filled market squeezes; connecting the dots on what's driving prices from gold and silver to copper and zinc, while digging into the increasingly critical role that metals are playing in the global energy transition. The Bloomberg News Data Visualization team is seeking a Data Visualization Reporter who uses illustrations and graphics to tell data-driven stories, both to explain news as it unfolds and in longer-term, ambitious visual narratives. We value people who are eager to collaborate with team members and across the newsroom, and who contribute their own independent reporting and creative ideation. We're looking for someone who is able to conceptualize visual stories that integrate data and illustrations. You should be able to work across a range of styles - from technical drawings and renderings to figurative and abstract illustrations. We welcome experience with a range of visual forms, such as mixed media, animation, comics, creative coding, 3D modeling or anything else that could help us tell ambitious visual stories. Our team is highly collaborative and we seek people who are motivated to work with others and to pitch in when news events unfold - both planned and unplanned. Bloomberg News is seeking an editor to join the Data Visualisation team in London to cover weekend shifts. You'll collaborate with editors and reporters across the newsroom to pursue smart visualisation opportunities related to planned and unplanned news over weekends, and you'll create charts, maps and other creative graphics that help readers draw insights from data. Relying on your sound news judgment, refined design sensibilities and technical knowledge, you'll inspire the team and the wider newsroom to execute inventive data-driven visual storytelling. Working Thursday through Monday, you'll report and produce your own data-driven graphics stories, both general assignments and coverage that develops over weekends, including breaking news. You'll work alongside and have support from other data visualisation reporters and editors during weekday shifts, and you'll leverage your own news judgment as you collaborate with news and enterprise editors on the weekend.
