Design Engineer Perm, up to £42k pa DOE, 40hrs per week, Mon to Fri, 25 days Holiday B.H NORMANTON I am recruiting an experienced Design Engineer, with knowledge of or a background in Sheet Metal, to work for one my clients, a busy Manufacturing and Engineering company based in Normanton. Your role, as the Design Engineer will involve handling all of the company's design and development of new and existing products. Day to day tasks will include: Producing concept design ideas Producing detailed technical drawings and 3D CAD models Analysing customer requirements to create accurate parts and component lists Review drawings and prepare drawing documentation Communicate with team members from various departments including Production and Sheet Metal Liaising with both customers and suppliers alike Evaluate strength and cycle time requirements Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures To be successful, you must have a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, HNC or be Apprentice Trained with proven experience within the industry. Other keys skills required: Experience using Solidworks is essential Production of engineering drawings, 3D-CAD models and technical files Knowledge and experience of Sheet Metal would be advantageous Ability to present designs to customers Preparing BOM's Creative mind with good problem-solving skills You will be required to work 40hrs per week, 8.30am to 5.30pm from Mon to Fri, although there is flexibility in both start and finish times to suit your needs. The Salary for the role is up to £42k pa Depending on Experience and the role is advertised as Permanent. Apply principles of hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive systems, considering all associated components. Develop conceptual designs for automated production plant equipment. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, design management, and project management, to ensure alignment with project goals. What you need It is ESSENTIAL for the successful Design Engineer to have the following: Previous experience with AutoCAD. Proficiency in working with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards. 2 Years as a Mechanical Design Engineer in an Engineering/Manufacturing setting. Other DESIRABLE skills include: Experience in a wide variety of Conveyor, Process Equipment or Mechanical handling projects. What is on offer Salary ranges from £35,000 to £45,000, with a 40-hour workweek and annual leave increasing to 27 days (years of service).
