Reed Engineering are currently representing a client who are currently seeking experienced time-served Mechanical Fitters, Workshop and Field Service Engineers to cover an array of sites and installation across Essex and surrounding areas. Candidate must have experience within the heavy engineering sectors, electrical installation to a high standard, fault finding, ability to understand wiring drawings, ability to test electrical systems. If candidates have maintenance experience of High voltage systems this would an advantage but not essential. The successful applicant will have the following profile: The ability to read electrical drawings, although full training will be provided for our specific requirements. A full driving license, preferably clean. Be self-motivated to work individually but adaptable to work as part of a team. Able to communicate in a clear, concise, logical manner both verbally and written. Served a recognised electrical Indentured Apprenticeship. Fault finding, repair, installation and commissioning experience. Good customer service skills. The applicant must: Diagnose and repair electrical problems in commercial and heavy industry electrical systems, including fault-finding, rewiring, and monitoring Ideally looking for an electrical technician who has worked on power stations with systems such as motors, actuators, trace heating, LV switchgear maintenance, electrical defects May also require to a number of mechanical tasks Conduct routine maintenance and testing on commercial and heavy industry electrical systems, and ensure installations are to manufacturer standards Rewire faulty electrical panel systems to a high standard Ensure good quality workmanship which upholds company standards, complies with building codes, and follows safety requirements Work alone to find and present faults and concerns in electrical systems without receiving explicit direction Provide exceptional customer service and answer any customer questions Install electrical systems to 18th edition wiring regulations. Training can be provided Provide professional assessments and advice for customers, this can be in the form of technical reports, emails, instructions but not limited to. Possess working knowledge of IEE regulations, City & Guilds 2360 and 2382 qualifications, and inspection and testing certificate (2391), not all necessary Previous experience of electrical testing, installation scopes, faulty finding. Autonomous role from time to time, motivated individual. Have a good level of fitness due to the physical demands of the job. Be able to pass security clearances. Have a flexible and positive outlook. Be able to attend out of hours call outs. Desirable attributes: The following qualities would be an advantage but are not essential. Recognised Health and Safety training. Welding experience and qualification. Hydraulic, pneumatic or fluid system experience. Previous experience; power generation and or aggregate sectors. Perform emergency repairs to make sure systems are always safe and secure. Conduct comprehensive electrical tests and inspections that assure quality and reliability, and electrical safety. Conduct general electrical repairs and servicing tasks with a level of skill and attention that turns routine into remarkable. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper storage and disposal of hazardous materials and waste. Required Skills and Qualifications: Essential: A recognised apprenticeship with relevant experience as a fully qualified electrician and/or an appropriate City and Guilds/NVQ in an Electrical discipline Holds City and Guilds IEE 18th Edition Regulations Holds City and Guilds 2391, 2394 or 2395 Testing and Inspection Hum-F-007 Version 1.0 2 Up to date knowledge of latest legislation Experience of electrical testing Installation experience Desirable: Previous knowledge and experience of MOD contracts.
