Job Title: R&D Analyst Location: Blackburn Salary: 26-28K with profit-related bonus scheme Benefits: 34 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) Company Pension Scheme BUPA Health Care Key Responsibilities: Prepare and test analytical samples following established procedures and methods. Ensure all work adheres to issued protocols, current IPTC procedures, and is completed in a timely manner. Conduct routine analysis of sample solutions using HPLC. Train team members in inhaler testing techniques, standard procedures, and methods. Follow approved Analytical Test Methods (ATMs) where applicable. Assist in developing and validating analytical methods as needed. Write and review IPTC Study Protocols and Standard Work Instructions within your expertise. Process and compile test data for inhalers and components. Review raw, processed, or compiled test data. Write and review IPTC Study Reports. Maintain accurate records and submit them for technical review. Write and update ATMs as necessary. Participate in 5S Audits and other operational improvement activities, completing associated actions. Ensure proper maintenance and handling of analytical equipment in the IPTC laboratory. Complete timesheets promptly to record resource utilization across projects. Present scientific and technical findings internally and contribute to external publications when required. The candidate: Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences, or a related discipline. At least 2-3 years of experience in a pharmaceutical or similar laboratory setting. Working knowledge of laboratory testing, preferably with inhaler technology and testing techniques. Proficiency in word processing and data analysis software (e.g., Microsoft Excel and Word) and statistical packages (e.g., JMP, Minitab). Experience with HPLC and associated software (e.g., Chromeleon, Empower). Key Capabilities & Skills: Adaptability to changing project needs and environments. Strong time management and workload prioritization skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage your own workload and resources effectively. Familiarity with workplace organization systems like 5S.
