Role Summary Reporting to a director or partner, you will assist the audit and accounts team in the delivery of year-end accounts and statutory audits for a portfolio of some of the most innovative and exciting clients across our region. The role also involves reviewing accounts and audit assignments and managing a team. The delivery of your work will be supplemented using cutting-edge technology to enhance efficiencies and client delivery. Main Tasks and Responsibilities Manage accounts and audit assignments covering various industry sectors and clients including Work with other managers, senior managers and partners to plan accounts and audit assignments and ensure they are completed in line with the relevant reporting standard Undertake all line management duties for your team including reviewing and allocating work, reviewing timesheets and working arrangements, undertaking weekly updates, providing regular one to one feedback, supporting development and undertaking appraisal Update the scheduler for expected and confirmed dates for your job manager client Work closely with partners & senior staff to ensure clients' needs are met and supporting them in dealing with their responsibilities to clients Provide routine accounting, and general commercial advice to clients Ensure that working papers, financial statements and client files are prepared in accordance with the firm's standards Ensure accounts and audit assignments are progressed and completed within both time and financial budgets Undertake monthly billing tasks Demonstrate and promote the firm's values, leading by example and where appropriate discussing the values with team members who do not demonstrate them Attend client meetings to discuss draft accounts with a partner or director Actively participate in department and management meeting Attend relevant networking event Undertake relevant CPD to maintain technical knowledge and remain up to date with any industry and economic changes Make suggestions for updating and improving the department and the firm's systems and processes The above list of duties is not exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the role Person Specification Essential ACA/ACCA qualified Proven experience of delivering audits on UK GAAP statutory financial statements Recent general practice background, with exposure to accounts, audit and/or tax with strong technical knowledge Experience of supervising or managing a team Experience of managing audit assignments Excellent organisational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills and be confident speaking to clients and colleagues face to face, over the telephone and by email Proven experience of taking ownership of assignments from start through to completion The ability to check work for accuracy and have good attention to detail The ability to make decisions, solve problems and take appropriate action Be flexible and proactive in managing multiple priorities Excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel Proven experience of delivering excellent client service Ability to establish rapport, build trust and demonstrate credibility The ability to travel to clients' premises as required
Role Summary Reporting to a Tax Manager, you will be involved in the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services for a portfolio of some of the most wealthy and exciting entrepreneurial businesses across our region. The delivery of your work will be supplemented using cutting-edge technology to enhance efficiencies and client delivery. Main Tasks and Responsibilities Review income, P11D and corporation tax returns from a variety of systems including CCH, Iris and Taxshield and providing feedback as appropriate Review work of and aid development of Taxation Associates, Senior Associates and Seniors Research more complex tax planning issues Deal with more complex cases around residency, R&D, remuneration planning and capital gains tax, liaising with the client as appropriate with support from tax partners and directors Undertake initial reviews of draft tax computations produced by audit and accounts colleagues The above list of duties is not exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the role Action queries raised by tax colleagues on the draft tax returns and computations Act as a point of contact for clients for ad hoc queries Attend client and external events where appropriate Attend clients' sites or homes where required Actively participate in department meetings Provide training, guidance, and support to members of the team as required Undertake relevant CPD to maintain technical knowledge Make suggestions for updating and improving the department and the firm's systems and processes Person Specification Essential Fully ACA or CTA qualified Relevant tax experience gained within practice Experience of using tax preparation software Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be confident speaking to clients face to face, over the telephone and by email Must have excellent IT skills, including working knowledge of Excel The ability to check work for accuracy and have good attention to detail The ability to judge differing situations and respond accordingly Be able to demonstrate your initiative to solve problems Be flexible and proactive in managing multiple priorities Desirable Proven experience of delivering excellent client service Be willing to undertake further studying to develop knowledge Experience of developing and managing a team Experience of tax planning, R&D, reorganisations or inheritance tax
