The HR & Training Officer will be responsible for delivering a professional and proactive support to the company advising and feeding back on the application of its human resources and training function in line with the business needs.
The HR Officer will provide expert advice in respect of all employment related matters, and all aspects of policy application and interpretation.
The role will also provide support to the company's sister site in Derby together with the support of the wider management team.
The Recruitment Co are looking for an HR Officer on a permanent basis to work successful engineering company based in Chilton, County Durham.
Up to £35K per annum depending on experience
The successful HR Officer will be responsible for delivering a professional and proactive support to the company, advising and feeding back on the application of its human resources function in line with the business needs.
Starting on dayshift for induction and training before moving onto a 2-shift rotation this person must be a confident TIG welder able to read engineering drawings without assistance.
The work ranges from day to day using many different material types and thicknesses ranging from 0.9m - 5mm mild steel, 1mm - 10mm aluminium & 1mm - 3mm stainless steel.
Please note that this role will predominately involve working with stainless steel.
Working on dayshift initially with a view to moving onto a 2 or 3-shift rotation, this person must have at least 1 years' experience of working in a metal dressing finishing environment.
Working with a variety of hand tools including electric grinders, pneumatic grinders and pad sanding tools.
Mostly dressing welds on components of various shapes and sizes ready for painting.
Working on dayshift initially with a view to moving onto a 2 or 3-shift rotation, this person must have at least 1 years' experience of working in a parts inspection environment, ideally within an engineering business (not essential).
The role requires the post holder to inspect a wide variety of manufactured product, using handheld measuring equipment, vision systems and other associated inspection equipment, support production in identifying issues, work to standard operating sheets as well as engineering drawings and specification sheets.
Candidates need to communicate well at a variety of levels (excellent listening skills, verbal, written), have good analytical and problem-solving skills, be self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision, capabe of understanding specifications and drawings, understand all measuring equipment within the department (including micrometres, verniers, height gauges, screw measuring equipment and use of Vision systems).
