Key accountabilities
The timely delivery to a high standard of specific statutory information for the annual statement of accounts, information and submission of data for key regulatory returns, information to external auditors, responding to external audit requests.
Meeting statutory deadlines for the external auditor and government body requirements.
Dealing with all matters in respect of Development Management especially in relation to all aspects of planning (and related) applications, including relevant matters at preapplication and post-application stages of the planning process, planning appeals and planning enforcement matters.
JOB ROLE PURPOSE

The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting non-finance teams in monitoring and maintaining their budgets, as well as delivering on technical, finance and accountancy-related responsibilities.
The Senior Accountant will provide accurate, timely and comprehensive financial information and analysis to inform decision-making and financial management activities.
The post holder will support the management, development and updating of the medium-term financial strategy and annual budget to ensure that it supports the strategic aims of the Council.
The Senior Capital Accountant will be responsible for the accurate management and reporting of the local authority's capital expenditure, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.
The role will support the effective use of resources and provide advice to budget holders and senior management.
Qualifications
A recognised professional accountancy qualification/part qualification (e.g.
To promote the preservation and enhancement of the historic built environment of Wirral and to provide specialist heritage advice to the Council and to the public, in line with best practice, national standards, organisational requirements and statutory obligations.

Qualifications: Educated to Degree Level in Planning and/or Conservation or a closely related qualification.
