Accounts Assistant Annual Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 Location: Cumbria Job Type: Full-time We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our finance team at a prestigious organisation in Cumbria (LA12). Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role requires a detail-oriented individual capable of managing their own set of finance duties and working unsupervised. Day-to-day of the role: Accurate processing of supplier invoices and reconciliation of supplier statements. Ensuring correct supplier balances and managing supplier payments with proper reconciliation. Handling all supplier queries efficiently. Conducting weekly cash counts and safe reconciliations. Assisting with monthly stock take preparation and completion. Maintaining an effective system for the filing, storage, and retrieval of all documents. Ordering and managing stationery and sundry items, maintaining correct par levels. Completing month-end tasks to ensure close by the deadline. Reconciling daily debit/credit card transactions and all cash on site. Ensuring staff adherence to correct cash up procedures and suggesting improvements. Preparing cash for daily banking and resolving card payment queries. Redeeming and reconciling gift vouchers and managing aged debtors reconciliations. Covering tasks for the Accounts Receivable Assistant as required. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in a similar role. Well-organised, proactive, with a high level of attention to detail. Strong Excel skills are essential. AAT qualification or working towards it is preferable.
