Somerset Solders Ltd is a leading supplier of tools and consumables to the electronics industry. With a broad range of products for soldering, ESD static control, SMT production and fume extraction, the Company has over 40 years of expertise in manufacturing and supply to the PCB industry. In 2020, the opportunity came to expand the ESD clothing and shoe range with the launch of the Somerset Workwear brand broadening the type of industries supplied to including transport, medical, and construction.
We are currently seeking a skilled Buyer to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing solders, tools and workwear products on behalf of our company. The Buyer will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely availability of products while maintaining cost efficiency.
Duties:
- Source suppliers and maintain good relationships to secure favourable terms- Negotiate prices, terms, and agreements with suppliers- Analyse market trends to make informed purchasing decisions- Collaborate with internal teams to understand product requirements- Monitor inventory levels and place orders as needed- Evaluate supplier performance and address any issues that arise
- Work to ISO standards such as ISO9001:2015
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Skills:
- Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure advantageous deals
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Pro-active and results driven mentality
- Knowledge of supply chain and logistics processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
