Location: Alternative Provision, Barnsley

Age Group: 14 - 16 years (KS4)

Contract: 1 Term Initially (Possibility to Extend into 2025)

Start Date: September 2024

About Us:

Our alternative provision in Barnsley provides a supportive and nurturing environment for students aged 14-16 who may not flourish in a traditional school setting. We are committed to delivering high-quality education that meets the individual needs of each student, helping them to achieve their full potential and prepare for a successful future.

Role and Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging and dynamic KS4 Science lessons tailored to the needs of our students.

Develop and implement creative teaching strategies that promote a love for science and foster academic progress.

Provide individualized support and encouragement to help students overcome barriers to learning.

Work collaboratively with a dedicated team of educators, support staff, and external agencies to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents/carers.

Contribute to the ongoing development of the science curriculum and participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.

Experience teaching Science at KS4 level.

A genuine passion for working with young people in an alternative provision setting.

Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
