We are thrilled to announce a new opening for a **Controls Officer** to join our spirted Controls team in Hertford. This role offers a unique chance to contribute to and shape our approach to back-office financing during a transformative period.

We are seeking hardworking, organized, and self-motivated individuals to collaborate with the Team Leader in Financial Transactions. As a key player in our team, you will support the HR/Payroll and Income & Debt Teams, ensuring smooth and efficient financial operations.

  • *Purpose of the Role**

As a Controls Officer, you will focus on various high-level responsibilities, including but not limited to:

- Preparing and processing monthly and end-of-year payments.
- Preparing and filing monthly and end-of-year returns.
- Performing general ledger account reconciliation and reporting.
- Investigating and rectifying unknown postings.
- Providing support and acting as a helpline to our stakeholders.

  • *Challenges and Opportunities**

In this role, you will:

- Produce payments and returns for our pension schemes.
- Conduct general ledger account reconciliation and reporting.
- Support audits and ensure compliance.
- Adhere to strict deadlines and maintain high standards of accuracy.

  • *Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**

Your performance will be measured by your ability to:

- Deliver timely and accurate payments and returns.
- Maintain thorough and precise account reconciliations.
- Support and facilitate successful audits.
- Meet all associated deadlines and complete tasks efficiently.

  • *Technical Skills & Qualifications**

To be successful in this role, you will need:

- A solid understanding of financial applications.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Grade 5 and above in Maths and English.
- Proficiency in IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams. Experience with SAP is preferable but not essential.
