Management Accountant

Company Overview

You will be joining a very well-established, highly regarded and prestigious Law Firm as their Management Accountant on an initial 6 month fixed term contract. This role has been created to support with the business as usual Management Accounting duties whilst the firm goes through three system upgrades. Part of a close-knit, collaborative, high-performing and supportive team of 6, you will report directly into the Finance Director who will be there to assist with your transition into the business. Based in their very modern City of London office 2 days a week, you will have the option to work from home for the remaining 3 days.

Role Responsibilities

In your new role, you will be responsible for reconciling the balance sheet accounts, preparing the monthly group reporting packs, preparing the monthly management accounts and supporting reconciliations, developing financial reporting and preparing prepayments/accruals for the month-end close. You will be assisting the Finance Manager with the day to day running of the finance function at a transactional level and you will provide cover for the AP Clerk by coding/processing invoices and preparing the weekly payment run if required. You will support with company-wide ad-hoc projects and reporting requirements.

Role Requirements

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to possess at least 3 years of Management Accounting experience, have previous experience using an Accounts software (preferably SUN), have experience of HMRC VAT filing, be able to work with limited supervision, be capable dealing with queries and have advanced Excel skills. You will be available to start at short notice and be quick to learn new systems, processes and policies. You will have a good understanding of online banking platforms and ideally you will have experience working in a multi-currency environment. The hiring manager is open to candidates who are part-qualified, finalist, qualified or qualified by experience (non-studiers). You will have an outstanding work ethic, strong communication skills and demonstrate a proactive, willing and enthusiastic attitude at all times. You will have the ability to work in a team environment and autonomously.

In Return

You will receive an annual salary of up to £65,000 (depending on experience) + Benefits (including 26 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays, discretionary Christmas bonus, family friendly policies, employee benefits platform, eyecare vouchers, paid charity leave day, group life assurance and a private pension scheme). You will be joining on an initial 6 month fixed term contract but there is scope for this role to be extended or made permanent, depending on business needs.
