Full-Time, 37 hours per week - £32,445.00

Optalis operates five Extra Care schemes across Berkshire, which are designed for older adults or individuals with disabilities who need some level of care and support while maintaining a degree of independence. This type of housing provides a combination of independent living and on-site care services, allowing residents to live in their own self-contained apartments with the reassurance of having access to care and support services when needed.

We are recruiting for a Service Manager to oversee two locations in Woodley on a full-time basis.

The Birches, on Woodlands Avenue, has 60 apartments whilst Fosters, on Fosters Lane, has 34. Both locations are staffed 24/7 by a team of seniors and care support workers that deliver care, as well as provide support to customers and their families. There is also a team of admin, housing and kitchen staff that assist in the day-to-day operations of the services.

This role is ideal for an experienced senior or service manager looking for a new adventure in adult social care; a background within Extra Care would be beneficial but is not essential. We are looking for someone that can build on the quality service already being delivered at The Birches and Fosters, and ensure the wellbeing and safety of our customer whilst also overseeing a team of care staff and supporting them on their career paths. Good communication skills are a must as you will be interacting with staff, customers, and families daily, as well as other parties such as doctors, social workers, and housing association representatives. On occasion, there may also be a requirement to help deliver care needs.
