Gretton School is an independent specialist school for children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, specifically high functioning autism. We welcome students from 5-19 years old, as weekly boarders or as day students. Based just outside Cambridge, we work with 12 counties to provide a broad and individualised education for these unique and wonderful students. Your new role
Gretton School is seeking a dedicated Admissions Officer to join our team. This role involves assessing learners throughout the year and coordinating assessment/visit days. This role sits within the Marketing, Referral, Admissions & Transitions Team and, as such, wider responsibilities include supporting the administration of referrals and transitions of new starters.

Key responsibilities include reading Local Authority referral paperwork, attending weekly referral assessment meetings, and maintaining the referrals list. You will help coordinate assessment days, liaise with parents and local authorities, and document learner outcomes. Additionally, you will prepare offer letters, support Open Afternoons, and maintain school records on SchoolPod.

You will also handle parent enquiries, coordinate panel meetings, and maintain the referrals database. For transitions, you will create plans and manage tasks related to new starters. You will update the Tribunal Information Pack, arrange meetings, and respond to solicitor requests. General admin duties include responding to enquiries and maintaining the school calendar.

School-wide responsibilities include understanding and implementing duties arising from the Children Act 2004, reporting any safeguarding concerns, attending appropriate courses, and undertaking other duties as part of the wider school team. You will contribute to the overall ethos, aims, and values of the school, promoting a positive image within the school and wider community.
