Prospectus is pleased to be working with a homelessness charity based in Newham, whose mission is to provide support to people who find themselves sleeping rough in East London. They do this by providing a safe and welcoming place to stay, and offering support through the provision of personalised support, educational and life skills opportunities. They are now seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team, on a temporary basis, initially for 2-4 weeks.
As Assistant Accountant, you will report into the Finance Manager and be responsible for the maintenance of accurate financial records on the financial systems for the Charity. This will include the day-to-day processing of financial transactions up to trial balance, ensuring that the systems are up to date for the financial and management reporting, and providing support to the Finance Manager with financial controls, account reconciliations, and monthly management reports for the wider organisation. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of rent module of the housing management system, ensuring residents' accounts are kept up to date and the reconciliation of various rent control accounts along with the weekly banking, rent file checking, uploading and processing.
To be considered for this role you will hold an ACCA/CIMA part qualified or AAT Level 3 qualification and above, have experience of working within an accountancy/finance environment and of the production of financial reports and financial reconciliations. You will also have advanced skill level in Excel, good analytical strength with high standard of literacy, numeric and reporting skills and good customer care and influencing skills.
